Crowns in Ashford, Frederick, and Stamford, VA

crowns

Many times, teeth that have large, cracked, or old fillings, or teeth that have undergone root canal treatment, may need crowns. These teeth need extra strength to prevent further damage to the rest of the tooth. Crowns can also be used to change the appearance of a smile, and address issues with occlusion or bite. That’s where a crown comes in. A crown is essentially a new outer surface of a tooth, covering the portion of the tooth above the gum line.

We usually begin each new patient relationship with a free consultation at one of our Ashford, Frederick, or Stamford dental offices. During this appointment, we will discuss your medical and dental history, and take study models, X-rays, and photographs to develop a comprehensive treatment plan. Since your goals and needs are unique, gathering all the necessary information is very important to help you achieve the most beautiful, healthy smile possible.

If Drs. Kataria or Bhatia determine that a crown is the proper course of action, the first step will be to have an impression made. This will be sent to our in-office lab where a crown will be created—usually out of porcelain—to match the exact shape and color of the rest of your natural teeth. When your crown is finished, you’ll return to our office to have the crown permanently placed in your mouth.

With decades of experience, Drs. Kataria and Bhatia have helped thousands of patients throughout the Ashford, Frederick, and Stamford communities regain their health and give them the confidence
